Stone Mountain covers 583 acres or 25 million square feet of exposed granite.
The "Scarlett O'Hara," an authentic, 150 passenger side wheeler, will take you on a scenic cruise of 363-acre Stone Mountain Lake. The Antebellum Plantation & Farmyard, to the right, is comprised of original buildings, built between 1790 and 1845, which represent an authentic, pre-Civil War Georgia plantation.
Stone Mountain is 1,683 feet above sea level and rises 825 feet above the surrounding area.
The town itself includes a grist mill & bakery, a blown glass shop, a candle shop, a blacksmith, a large general store, candy and ice cream production facilities, and a boarding house restaurant featuring the best of Southern cuisine.
The Memorial Carving depicts three Confederate heroes of the Civil War; President Jefferson Davis, General Robert E. Lee, and Lt. General Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson.
The Mountain top Skylift's Swiss cable cars climb 825 ft. From there, visitors enjoy an incredible view of Atlanta, the Appalachian Mountains and surrounding countryside.
Spring, Summer and Fall are the seasons to visit the Park at night as we turn the north side of Stone Mountain into a one million square-foot natural screen for our popular Lasershow Spectacular. Be sure to come early and picnic on the lawn in front of the reflecting pond before the show. It's the perfect evening for the whole family!
